river and mountain

From the riverside to the summit of the Appalachians, ride the snowmobiling trails that Montmagny et les Îles has to offer. An expedition that will lead you to the American frontier.

From north to south, this itinerary will make you go all through our beautiful region. You will be able to contemplate the St-Lawrence river, as well as the Appalachians hills and valley. Are you up to the challenge?

Day 1

In Montmagny, many motels and hotels can welcome you. For those who want to bring their trailers, five different hotels with parking spaces give direct access to the trails. Just along the Trans-Québec 5 trail, the Hôtel L’Oiselière is very well-suited to welcome snowmobilers. On the site, you’ll be able to eat and relax at the body cares center or do some swimming laps in the indoor pool. You may also stay at the Econo Lodge & Suites or at the Days Inn , two hotels nearby.

Snowmobilers can also lodge at the Motel Sympathique and at the Hôtel Centre-Ville , by using the Centre-Ville trail. And why not grab a craft beer or two at the new microbrewery in town, the Microbrasserie Côte-du-Sud !

You may also spend the night at the Auberge du Petit Manoir , located along the Trans-Québec 5 trail, south-east of Montmagny. With its Victorian-inspired architecture have been entirely renovated. There’s a restaurant and a bar on the site.

DAY 2

After a good-night sleep in Montmagny, let’s ride east on the trail #5 until you reach the #551 trail. For a short moment there, you’ll be using the Trans-Québec 35 trail, just long enough to get back on the 551 trail. This itinerary will lead you down to the Appalaches resort, in Saint-Paul-de-Montminy. You may stop awhile there to eat or to relax before continuing.

Because the adventure doesn’t stop here! Get back on the 551 trail and continue down south. Please note that the Club Motoneige Panet, in Saint-Fabien-de-Panet, has a relay should you need to make a stop. Just before you reach Saint-Just-de-Bretenières, follow the directions that leads you to Chalets & Villegiature Daquaam . You may lodge there in one of the 8 cottages or at the 4-star inn.

And if you have any energy left, there’s a lot of activities you can do on the site like cross-country skiing, ice fishing, dog sledding, horse riding and many more!

DAY 3

After a nice breakfast (or lunch, should you decide to prolong your stay), let’s get on the way back. You may want to stop a few minutes to grab a bite or warm yourself at the Appalaches before coming back to Montmagny. You may also want to stay one more night before going back home, who knows!
