The coastline

In Montmagny and the Islands, you’ll be able to cycle along the St. Lawrence River on many kilometers on the Route verte, a route that runs on the coastline, offering on the way a breathtaking panorama and many observation points.

Montmagny has many boardwalks and halts with picnic areas and observation points. Enjoy the scenery at the basin and waterfall of Montmagny. Following the bike trail, you’ll get to the Montmagny’s marsh and its several observation points to take a peek of the abundant fauna of this protected area. You can also discover the Parc Saint-Nicolas and the cemetery surroundings by using the multisport trail. Take time to visit the marina of Berthier-sur-Mer or the halt in Cap-Saint-Ignace .

From Montmagny, you can take the ferry to the Isle-aux-Grues , which can also be visited by bike. You can even rent one on the island and do an excursion through the tidelands.

The plains

Go inland to discover the calm and the immensity of the rural landscape. Here, the generous nature and the great spaces are painting quite a picture. This vast plain is an appreciated destination for bikers. Mark a pause in your biking trip at the Chute à Mongeau in Saint-François-de-la-Rivière-du-Sud , and take a few minutes to enjoy all the riches of the built heritage in Saint-Pierre-de-la-Rivière-du-Sud .

The mountains

Push your limits and follow the bicycle path down to the Parc des Appalaches . Discover the peatland in Saint-Just-de-Bretenières on the 15 km wooden-boardwalk trail. And who knows, you may be able to see a moose at the top of the watchtower!

The most intrepid might also want to pedal on the 6.5 kilometer gravel and bare ground trail nested in the heart of the Montagne du Lac in Lac-Frontière.
