Follow the interpretive trail that retraces the rich history of this former quarantine station.

At every discovery station, located across the island, let our Parks Canada guides share with you fascinating facts and stories about the lives of the residents and immigrants who lived on the island and the scientific and medical advances of the time.

The adventure begins in Berthier-sur-Mer (35 minutes from Québec City) where the ferry departs for Grosse Île. Air transportation is also available from Montmagny (45 minutes from Québec City).

For Real!

At the time of the quarantine, it was customary for the children of the village to go and greet the immigrants when they left the island. This tradition still lives on today.
