A true piece of Canadian history

A true piece of Canadian history that is rarely mentioned. [...] It was a gray and rainy day that really set the mood as we were greeted by staff of the island. Amazing.

In a few words

Accompanied by a Parks Canada guide, walk in the footsteps of the tens of thousands immigrants who reached the quarantine island, between 1832 and 1937 in hopes for a better future.

Former Canada important gateway, Grosse-Île is located in an enchanting site in the heart of St. Lawrence River.

Dive into the lives of habitants, employees and immigrants and encounter moving stories and evocative landscapes.

The adventure begins in Berthier-sur-Mer (35 minutes from Québec City) where the cruise ship departs. Air transportation is also available from Montmagny (45 minutes from Québec City).
