It was since 1995, when he bought the commercial fishing license from his father Anselme, that Donald Lachance has been striving to fish for Atlantic sturgeon in the waters of the St. Lawrence River. Between May and June, August and September, like a handful of sturgeon fishermen still active in the region, he rises at dawn to set his gillnets.
